Did Stanley Kubrick flim this footage?
Do we know who recorded this footage for the US Army? Recently recovered lost clips from Stanley Kubrick interviews from 1966 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsSV6yZZIVk has a portion where he talks about "whether or not I was going to get blown up by an h bomb prior to [the filming of] Lolita(which began filming in early 1960, which this was filmed in late 1959, cause you can see condensation coming from some of the soldiers mouths, typical of a late November mid day in the southwest)". I'm not trying to be all conspiracy nut, but, I grew up on this footage in science class, and looking back, my god it's literally picturesque of Kubrick style. Is there any or does anyone have any information on this??
THis amazing footage, part of an RKO Pathe fim, features some astonishing footage of soldiers doing their duty and watching the A bomb go off in the desert wearing very little protection. I just loved it how they looked up after the bomb hit, and getting hit by the aftershock.. BAM! After that, they proceed to walk up towards the bomb target, gawking. The film then cuts to what appeards to be some before and after shots of miltary equiment and dummies set up to see the effects before and after the bomb. So we see tanks, heavy artillery and machine guns just wasted. It would've been interesting to see the before and after effects, say 10-15 years of the soldiers participating in this, but never mind. A MUST see on this site!
